Grizzlies' Brooks suspended for Game 3 vs. Warriors
The NBA suspended Memphis Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks for Saturday's Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors, the league announced Thursday.
Brooks was ejected from Game 2 after committing a flagrant-2 foul on Gary Payton II, resulting in the Warriors guard fracturing his elbow. Golden State announced Thursday that Payton would be re-evaluated in two weeks.
The Grizzlies turned to Ziaire Williams and De'Anthony Melton in Game 2 to play extended minutes along the perimeter with Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. Williams played 28 minutes, while Melton recorded 26 minutes.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday that his team wouldn't retaliate against Brooks.
Brooks is averaging 13.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in eight postseason games this campaign.
The series shifts to San Francisco for Game 3 and is tied at one game apiece. Saturday's contest is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
