Report: Hornets interviewing D'Antoni, Ham, others
The Charlotte Hornets are starting to interview candidates to become the franchise's 12th head coach, including Golden State Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson, Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham, Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Sean Sweeney, and former Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Hornets have gone six straight seasons without a playoff appearance. The team dismissed James Borrego after he went 138-163 in his four-season tenure, including two consecutive disastrous showings in the play-in tournament.
D'Antoni and Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak were both with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2012-14 and "had a good working relationship," Wojnarowski notes.
This is the second job Ham has reportedly been connected to, as the Lakers requested to interview the longtime assistant for their head coaching vacancy.
