Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen will not undergo a procedure to fix his fractured left middle finger, and he instead hopes to heal naturally and retake the court before the end of the regular season, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.
The 2022 All-Star has been listed as out indefinitely since suffering the injury March 6 against the Toronto Raptors. The Cavaliers are reportedly optimistic about the 23-year-old's return, but they have yet to determine a target date.
Allen has put up career-high averages in scoring (16.1) and rebounding (10.8) in over 32 minutes per game while holding his defensive assignments to 48.6% shooting within six feet of the bucket, according to NBA Stats.
Forwards Kevin Love, Dean Wade, and Lamar Stevens have drawn starts alongside rookie big man Evan Mobley in Allen's absence.
