The Brooklyn Nets are signing free-agent guard Goran Dragic for the rest of the season, his agent, Bill Duffy, confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dragic was recently bought out by the San Antonio Spurs after coming over in a deadline-day trade from the Toronto Raptors.
Brooklyn will waive guard Jevon Carter to make space for the 14-year veteran, who will sign for the rest of the season, sources told Wojnarowski.
The Slovenian will join a new-look backcourt in Brooklyn led by former Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving. He also has ties to head coach Steve Nash, as the two were teammates with the Phoenix Suns from 2008-11.
The Nets have struggled of late, losing 12 of their last 14 games while dealing with injuries, Irving's home absences, and drama surrounding James Harden.
As a result, Brooklyn sits eighth in the Eastern Conference at 31-28.
The 35-year-old made his intentions of playing for a contender clear when he was sent to Toronto in Kyle Lowry's sign-and-trade to the Miami Heat in the offseason.
Dragic only suited up in five contests with the 32-25 Raptors this season, averaging eight points in 18 minutes per game.
