Nuggets guard PJ Dozier suffers torn ACL
The Denver Nuggets' rash of injuries continues to spread through the roster, as the team announced fifth-year guard PJ Dozier is out indefinitely after suffering a torn left ACL on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old will miss the remainder of the season with the injury, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dozier averaged 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in just under 19 minutes per game this campaign.
The Nuggets' backcourt is already without Jamal Murray after the rising star guard tore the ACL in his left knee in April. There's reportedly also concern that promising forward Michael Porter Jr. could miss the remainder of the season to address a nerve issue in his back.
Meanwhile, reigning league MVP Nikola Jokic continues to record one of the most sensational starts to a season in NBA history. The franchise star boasts a player efficiency rating of 35.4 - far and away the highest single-season mark of all time. The 6-foot-11 center is averaging 26.4 points on 65.4% shooting on twos and 41% on threes to go with 13.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
However, Jokic has also missed the last three contests due to a right wrist injury. The Nuggets lost all three games by an average of 18 points, dropping their record to 9-9 - good only for eighth in the busy Western Conference standings.
