T-Wolves' Edwards: 'Nothing you can do' to stop Giannis

It hasn't taken long for Anthony Edwards to realize there's little that any defense can do to contain Giannis Antetokounmpo - let alone stop the two-time MVP altogether.

"With a guy like that, you can't stress about him scoring. That's what he's going to do," Edwards said following his Minnesota Timberwolves' 113-108 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, per Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press. "I mean, motherf----- is 7-2, 280 pounds, ain't nothing you can do about it. Like, shit, we put four people on him and he still scored the ball."

(Antetokounmpo is listed at 6-foot-11 and 242 pounds.)

Edwards continued, "I was telling (T-Wolves rookie Leandro Bolmaro) today - 'cause we played against him last year - I'm like, 'Bro, I ain't never seen nothing like it.' You can put four people on him; he might miss it, jump right back up, dunk that. There's nothing you can do about it."

Antetokounmpo finished with 40 points on 15-of-23 shooting. He went 3-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc, which was previously considered the weak spot in his otherwise immaculate scoring arsenal. For good measure, the 26-year-old added 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks in just 35 minutes.

Edwards feels that sort of statistical deluge is to be expected from the Greek Freak.

"Him scoring the ball, it doesn't amaze none of us," last year's No. 1 pick added. "We're like, 'This is what he do,' you know what I'm saying? But I can't even say we contained him, he still went for 40. Like, the game plan was to not let him beat us - and we came out victorious - but he still went for 40.

"I mean, he's amazing, man. There's nothing (else) I can say about him. He's unstoppable."
