Jonas Valanciunas signed a two-year contract extension worth $30.1 million with the New Orleans Pelicans, his agents told ESPN's Andrew Lopez on Wednesday.

The Lithuanian big man is set to begin his first campaign in New Orleans after being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason. Valanciunas spent the first six-and-a-half years of his career with the Toronto Raptors before they dealt him to Memphis as part of a package for Marc Gasol.

For his career, Valanciunas averages 12.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 56.6% from the field.

With franchise cornerstone Zion Williamson playing alongside the 29-year-old Valanciunas in the frontcourt, the Pelicans will feature two of the better inside scorers in the NBA.
