The New York Knicks have agreed to restructure Taj Gibson's contract to a two-year, $10.1-million pact, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 36-year-old had previously agreed to a one-year deal reportedly worth just $2.7 million - the minimum salary for a player with Gibson's experience.
The 6-foot-9 big man averaged 5.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in just under 21 minutes per game in 2020-21.
Last season saw Gibson reunite with head coach Tom Thibodeau, who previously coached him on the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. Thibodeau was voted the Coach of the Year after leading the Knicks to the fourth seed in the East and their first postseason berth since 2013.
