The New York Knicks are signing general manager Scott Perry to a contract extension, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Perry's extension is for two seasons, according to the New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy.

New York hired Perry in 2017. The 57-year-old briefly served as interim president of basketball operations following Steve Mills' dismissal during the 2019-20 season.

Among other impactful moves, Perry signed Julius Randle to a team-friendly three-year, $62.1-million contract in 2019. Randle had a breakout 2020-21 campaign, earning his first All-Star appearance and the Most Improved Player Award by averaging a team-high 24.1 points per game.

Perry is also responsible for drafting RJ Barrett and helping the Knicks compile an impressive collection of future picks.
