The Golden State Warriors will receive the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2021 first-round selection after the pick slid to No. 7 overall in Tuesday's draft lottery.
The Timberwolves would have retained the pick had it been a top-three selection; the swap is the result of the 2020 trade that sent 2019 All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell to Minnesota for wing Andrew Wiggins.
The Warriors acquired Wiggins - the first overall selection in the 2014 draft - plus the Timberwolves' protected 2021 first-round pick and 2021 second-round pick in exchange for Russell, Jacob Evans, and Omari Spellman.
The 2021 draft is slated for July 29.
