The Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves became the first teams to get eliminated from postseason contention following the San Antonio Spurs' win over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

As a result, Houston's (15-44) league-leading streak of eight straight playoff appearances came to an end. Excluding this season, the Rockets earned a combined 413-233 record during their streak.

The Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers now share the NBA's longest active playoff streak at seven consecutive seasons.

Team Active Playoff Streak
Toronto Raptors 7 seasons
Portland Trail Blazers 7 seasons
Boston Celtics 6 seasons
Indiana Pacers 5 seasons
Oklahoma City Thunder 5 seasons

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves (16-44) will watch the postseason from home for a third straight campaign and 16th time in the last 17 seasons.
