Kobe Bryant's sneaker contract with Nike has expired, but recent trademark applications suggest his estate could be preparing to launch its own line of merchandise.

As intellectual property attorney Josh Gerben and Nike Kicks revealed, Bryant's estate has filed 13 trademark applications on footwear and apparel for several different logos dating back to May 2020.

The most recent filings, "Play Gigi's Way" and a No. 2 inside a heart, were submitted March 23.

Vanessa Bryant announced in a statement Monday that Kobe's estate decided not to renew the late Los Angeles Lakers legend's contract with Nike.

Vanessa and the estate have grown frustrated with the limited availability of Kobe products following his retirement, and again after his death in January 2020, according to ESPN's Nick DePaula.
