NBA Tuesday player props: Bet Edwards, fade Powell

Three of our five props cashed on Monday, getting us into the green to start the week. Let's keep the momentum rolling into Tuesday.

Here's what's on tap for the six-game slate.

Anthony Edwards over 2.5 made threes

There won't be a shortage of offensive firepower in Tuesday's Kings-Timberwolves tilt. Both clubs rank top five in pace, and the market is expecting roughly 240 combined points. Look for Edwards to pile up the stats, primarily from the perimeter.

Minnesota is attempting threes at the league's third-highest rate over the team's last five games (48.3%), and the T-Wolves draw a Sacramento squad that ranks dead last in 3-point percentage this season (39.1%).

And while he's converting triples at just a 32% clip, volume hasn't been a problem for Edwards. He's taken 11-plus shots from distance in three of his last four starts.

Edwards should go bonkers against a defense allowing the second-most points to shooting guards and the NBA's fifth-highest overall shooting percentage.

Norman Powell under 2.5 assists

The Trail Blazers rank last in the NBA in assists per made field goal (0.507) and assists per possession (0.202). Tuesday's matchup comes against a Clippers defense that allows only 22.8 assists per contest to rank fourth in the league, and just 3.3 to small forwards, the second-best mark behind only the Sixers.

Here, we'll fade Powell, who's been held to two or fewer dimes in 10 of his 12 games since being traded to Portland.

Dwayne Bacon under 1.5 made threes

Bacon has gone nine straight starts without making multiple threes. I wouldn't stop fading him Tuesday against the Hawks, who are quietly among the top 10 in 3-pointers allowed per contest (11.2).

The Magic's offense has attempted threes at the NBA's fourth-lowest rate over the team's last five games (32.6%). Expect Bacon to stay relatively quiet against the league's No. 7 defense in both threes allowed per game (2.4) and overall shooting percentage against his position (43.8%).

Jalen McDaniels under 11.5 points

McDaniels is getting some extended run with the Hornets lately while starting seven straight games. He's logged double-digit points in five of those contests, but McDaniels faces an uphill battle on Tuesday. The Knicks pace the league in field-goal percentage allowed (40.8%), and they give up the seventh-fewest points per game to small forwards.

Go under in what should be a fairly low-scoring matchup.

Joe Harris over 14.5 points

This is a good spot for Harris in a Nets lineup without Kevin Durant and James Harden. The Virginia product has tallied double-digit shot attempts in seven of his last 11 contests, a span that includes three games with 23-plus points.

Harris could be in for another banner day against a Pelicans defense giving up the second-most 3-pointers per game (3.4), and the NBA's fourth-highest shooting percentage to small forwards (49.4%).
