Harden's hamstring to be re-evaluated in 10 days; KD probable vs. Pels
The Brooklyn Nets' struggle to get all their marquee stars on the court together for a prolonged stretch continues.
James Harden will be out of action for at least 10 days, at which point his right hamstring strain will be re-evaluated, the team announced Tuesday.
However, Harden's absence comes with Kevin Durant expected to return to the lineup after missing 26 of the Nets' past 27 games with a hamstring strain of his own. Brooklyn upgraded Durant to probable ahead of Wednesday's game versus the New Orleans Pelicans.
Despite an Eastern Conference-leading 35-16 (.686) record, the Nets have only had Harden, Durant, and Kyrie Irving in the lineup together for seven games this season. The team went 5-2, outscoring opponents by 8.4 points per 100 possessions in 186 minutes of action.
Because Durant has been sidelined since mid-February, Wednesday would represent his first opportunity to play alongside big men Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge. The former stars signed with Brooklyn in late March after reaching buyout agreements with their previous teams.
The hypothetical lineup of Harden, Irving, Durant, Griffin, and Aldridge would boast 40 combined All-Star selections.
