The Houston Rockets traded Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat, the latter club announced Thursday.
Miami sent guard Avery Bradley, forward Kelly Olynyk, and a 2022 first-round pick swap back to Houston in the deal.
Oladipo, who's averaging 20.8 points, five rebounds, and 4.7 assists this season, joins a Heat core comprised of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The former All-Star is in the final season of a four-year, $85-million contract and can become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
The 2013 second overall pick moved from the Indiana Pacers to the Rockets as part of the James Harden blockbuster trade earlier this season. Oladipo reportedly elected not to re-sign an extension with Houston earlier this month.
Oladipo has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons, appearing in 84 games since the start of the 2018-19 campaign. Miami marks the guard's fifth different team in eight seasons.
Meanwhile, Houston is receiving a solid 3-and-D guard in Bradley. The 30-year-old has been limited to 10 games because of injuries this season. In that time, he's averaged 8.5 points on 42.1% 3-point shooting.
As for Olynyk, he's been a serviceable big man for Miami this season. The Canadian is averaging 10 points and 6.1 rebounds through 43 appearances.
