NBA Tuesday player props: Grizzlies will shut down Bradley Beal

Utah's Rudy Gobert spoiled an otherwise perfect Monday, so we'll take a 5-1 record on player props to start the week.

Here's what's on tap for Tuesday's six-game slate.

Brook Lopez under 1.5 made threes

Lopez is pure fade material right now. The Bucks big man recently played the Thunder, Pelicans, Timberwolves, and Kings - all currently bottom six in the NBA in field goal percentage allowed to centers this year - and mustered just an average of 10 points across that stretch.

I'm going under on his made threes. Lopez has knocked down multiple in only two of his last eight starts and faces a Nuggets unit surrendering just 0.76 triples per game to centers.

Bradley Beal under 33.5 points

Playing Beal under the total isn't fun - he paces the league in usage rate and logs north of 33 points per tilt - but I'm confident in the Grizzlies' defense.

Memphis handles shooting guards quite well, holding them to just 20.83 points per game on 42.51% from the floor. Those two clips rank No. 4 and 7 in the NBA, respectively.

Secondly, Beal's coming off a 46-point outburst, aided by 11 free throws. If the Grizzlies can play a clean game - there's much room for improvement after committing 31 fouls on Sunday - they'll hold Beal to a modest total.

Marc Gasol under 13.5 points+rebounds+assists

While Beal tops the NBA in usage rate, Gasol's near the bottom (11.1%, fourth-worst), which should result in yet another paltry stat line for the veteran big man when the Lakers square off against the Suns.

Gasol hasn't taken more than seven shots from the floor in any game this season. The 36-year-old's averaging roughly 17 minutes per game over the last three and draws a Phoenix defense that allows the fifth-fewest points per game and ninth-worst field goal percentage to centers.

Clint Capela under 29.5 points+rebounds+assists

Hawks point guard Trae Young went cold in Sunday's loss to the Heat, so Capela picked up the slack. The latter collected 20 points and 14 boards to earn his seventh double-double in the last eight. Capela's averaging 14.9 points and 14.1 rebounds per game in 2020-21 - so he'll probably add another double-double Tuesday - but there's enough cushion to go under.

Miami's allowing the fifth-fewest boards per game and should get a better effort out of Bam Adebayo, who's top-10 in the league in Defensive Box Plus/Minus.

Dejounte Murray under 5.5 assists

Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan collected 11 assists on Monday for the second straight time. DeRozan's up to a career-high 7.0 this season and looks to be the main facilitator for San Antonio's offense.

That makes Murray an automatic sell.

The Knicks only give up 22.5 assists per game (third-best in the NBA), so there's only so much to go around. With DeRozan's recent uptick, fade Murray in this department.
