Blake Griffin cleared waivers Sunday and has agreed to a deal with the Brooklyn Nets for the remainder of the season, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Nets are using one of their veteran minimum contract slots to add Griffin, Wojnarowski adds.

The six-time All-Star reached a buyout agreement with the Detroit Pistons on Friday. He hadn't played in 10 straight games leading up to his buyout after the Pistons removed him from the rotation while exploring various options for his future.

Griffin is averaging 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists while shooting 36.5% from the field and 31.5% on long-range attempts in 20 appearances this season. He's produced career averages of 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 642 NBA games over 11 seasons.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Portland Trail Blazers were also reportedly interested in acquiring the 31-year-old.
