NBA Tuesday player props: Huge spots for Kyrie Irving, Gary Trent Jr.

Terry Rozier didn't hit a single three, Coby White's rebound total cashed before the half, and we went 2-3 on player props to open the week.

Let's turn it around Tuesday. Here's what's in store for the nine-game slate.

Kyrie Irving over 40.5 points+rebounds+assists

We struck out on Luka Doncic over 48.5 combined points, rebounds, and assists Monday, but we'll take another star over the total when Irving and the Nets take on the Kings.

Brooklyn's Kevin Durant - who ranks 10th in the NBA with a 31.3% usage rate - will miss his fifth straight game. That should put Irving - who's No. 20 at 29.8% - in line for a huge night against a defense that can't stop anybody.

Not only do the Kings have the worst defensive efficiency in the NBA - by a decent margin - but they also surrender the second-most points, fifth-most assists, and sixth-most threes per game to shooting guards. James Harden will facilitate, so Irving should draw Buddy Hield, who grades out as Sacramento's worst defender.

Gary Trent Jr. over 3.5 made threes and 17.5 points

This is a huge - and I mean huge - spot for Trent. He and the Trail Blazers are on the road against the Nuggets in the second half of a back-to-back after playing the Suns in Phoenix on Monday.

Typically, I'd worry about a player's legs on no days' rest, especially at high altitude. But Trent seems to relish these spots. In fact, he's gone berserk in the latter half of back-to-backs since being inserted into the starting lineup for CJ McCollum.

Gary Trent Jr. in 2nd half of back-to-backs

Opponent FG 3pt Points
Thunder 9-17 4-9 22
Wizards 8-16 7-9 23
Cavaliers 8-12 4-6 26
Pelicans 7-14 5-10 23

The 22-year-old has also put up at least 10 attempts from beyond the arc in three straight games. Play both his 3-point total and point total.

Trae Young under 4.5 rebounds

Under, under, under.

Young hasn't been active on the glass this season, collecting more than four rebounds for the Hawks just twice over his last 15 games. The Cavaliers give up the fourth-fewest boards to point guards, and it's tough to envision Young racking up rebounds against an offense that ranks last in the NBA in 3-point attempts.

Tobias Harris over 1.5 made threes

Harris is a solid buy in the 3-point department when the 76ers face the Raptors for the second time in three days. He had an awful night in Sunday's loss - 6-of-17 from the field, 1-of-9 from deep, and just 13 points - but his luck should balance out Tuesday.

Toronto allows the seventh-highest field-goal percentage and fifth-most made threes to power forwards. Harris has knocked down just six of his last 23 attempts, making him a perfect buy-low candidate.
