Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas downplayed reports of DeMarcus Cousins' imminent departure from the team on Sunday.
"He's here at practice. He's here for tomorrow's game and moving forward," Silas said, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto. "I know there are rumors out there as to what's kind of coming ahead, but those are just rumors at this point."
It was reported Saturday that the Rockets and Cousins were planning to part ways in the coming weeks. The 30-year-old center has played 25 games for Houston this season, mostly off the bench.
While averaging a respectable 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest, Cousins is shooting just 37.6% from the floor and only 47.6% at the rim out to three feet - an atrocious number for a center who has historically thrived in the post.
Cousins missed all of last season due to an ACL injury before signing a non-guaranteed one-year contract with the Rockets in November.
