Free-agent big man Norvel Pelle intends to sign with the Brooklyn Nets upon clearing the NBA's health and safety protocols, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 27-year-old played 24 games with the Philadelphia 76ers as a rookie last season, tallying 2.4 points, three rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in under 10 minutes per appearance.

Pelle struggled to meet academic eligibility requirements to play in the NCAA after being a highly ranked high school recruit. Instead, the 6-foot-10 center plied his trade in what is now the G League, and then he played overseas in Taiwan, Lebanon, and Italy before returning stateside in 2019.

He's the first NBA player born in Antigua and Barbuda.
