The NBA is expanding its efforts to enforce health and safety measures regarding contact between players outside of the game setting, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Beginning Wednesday, the league will reportedly place team security staff at halfcourt before and after games to ensure compliance with mask and social distancing policies.

The National Basketball Players Association and NBA agreed on new rules requiring players to maintain six feet of distance where possible and refrain from physical contact after instances of potential exposure started to rise - franchises lacking the required minimum of eight healthy, active players has resulted in multiple game postponements.

Additionally, players and staff must wear masks while on the sidelines with limited exceptions.
