Blazers' McCollum out at least 4 weeks with broken foot
CJ McCollum's injured foot is more serious than first thought.
The Portland Trail Blazers guard will be re-evaluated in four weeks as he deals with a hairline fracture to the lateral cuneiform in his left foot and a mid-foot sprain, the team announced.
McCollum suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Atlanta Hawks and was initially expected to miss a week. He'll wear a walking boot, according to the team.
The 29-year-old has averaged 26.7 points, five assists, and 1.3 steals through 13 appearances this season while shooting 44.1% on 11 attempts from deep per game.
A four-week absence would put McCollum's return in mid-February. The Blazers play nine of their 12 games between Jan. 28 and Feb. 17 on the road. Portland is also dealing with the loss of center Jusuf Nurkic for eight weeks due to a broken wrist.
