The Toronto Raptors and the NBA are working with officials in both Canada and the United States to have the team play its games in Toronto this season, sources tell the New York Post's Marc Berman.

With no confirmation that the Raptors will be allowed to play in Canada due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, several potential alternate sites have been reported, including Newark, N.J., and Nashville.

Canada currently requires travelers from other countries to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. However, the federal government plans to offer rapid testing at airports to allow those who test negative to forgo quarantine, according to the Toronto Sun's Bryan Passifume.

Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays had their efforts to play home games in Canada denied this year, forcing them to relocate to nearby Buffalo. That official decision did not come until days before the MLB season commenced.

The 2020-21 NBA campaign is tentatively set to begin Dec. 22.
