Chris Paul headlines 2019-20 NBA Cares Community Assist Award recipients

The NBA announced its NBA Cares Community Assist Award winners Monday, a distinction given "in recognition of their continued commitment to positively impacting their communities through sustained efforts over the course of the season," per a release from the league.

The honorees for 2019-20 are the Oklahoma City Thunder's Chris Paul, the Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown, the Milwaukee Bucks' George Hill, the Sacramento Kings' Harrison Barnes, and the Dallas Mavericks' Dwight Powell.

Paul, Brown, Hill, and Barnes were lauded for their advocacy for social justice causes, while Barnes and Powell were singled out for their support of frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each award recipient will receive $10,000 for a charity of their choice.
