Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Travis Lulay threw for 257 yards and a touchdown to lead the British Columbia Lions to a 24-11 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a battle of struggling West Division teams.

Geroy Simon hauled in seven receptions for 134 yards and a score for British Columbia (1-5), which picked up its first triumph of the season.

Simon has caught at least one pass in 148 consecutive games and registered the 58th 100-yard game of his career.

"I'm not really worried about the personal stuff, I just want to win," said Simon after the contest.

"Defensively we can't give up that one long play we got beaten on," said Saskatchewan head coach Greg Marshall, speaking of a long catch and run by Simon. "That's just ridiculous."

Darian Durant threw for 236 yards and one touchdown in defeat for Saskatchewan (1-5).

Paul McCallum gave British Columbia an early 3-0 lead on the strength of a 33- yard field goal.

The Lions scored two straight touchdowns in the second quarter to push the advantage to 17-0. After Time Brown plunged into the end zone on a one-yard run, Lulay connected with Simon on a 63-yard touchdown run.

Saskatchewan finally got on the board with a 42-yard field goal by Eddie Johnson, but McCallum answered with a 30-yarder of his own to make the score 20-3.

Late in the first half, the Roughriders were able to cap a seven-play, 69-yard drive with a touchdown. Durant threw a perfect pass to Chris Getzlaf in the end zone, cutting Saskatchewan's deficit to 20-10 as the teams entered the locker rooms at intermission.

Only one point was scored in the third quarter, a single by the Roughriders.

McCallum nailed a 30-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, and his team added a single as well to bring the score to its final of 24-11.
