The NBA plans to hold its upcoming 2020 draft lottery virtually, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.
One representative from each of the league's 14 lottery teams will appear using a virtual display.
The draft lottery is now scheduled for Aug. 20 after it was initially delayed in May - along with the draft combine - due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event's original location was Chicago.
The league is innovating its implementation of technology during the spectator-less season restart at Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort, utilizing video boards to let fans interact with games from home. Arenas are also pumping in crowd noise.
