Chris Paul making documentary about COVID-19 shutting down sports

Chris Paul is working on a documentary about the coronavirus pandemic forcing the sports world to a halt.

Paul shared a few details about the project on Wednesday's episode of The Player's Tribune's "Knuckleheads" podcast. He also reflected on learning the NBA was suspending the season just prior to tipoff of the Oklahoma City Thunder's March 11 game against the Utah Jazz.

"It was crazy, man," Paul said. "I'm doing a documentary about it ... like a movie about the sports stop with Antoine Fuqua and Brian Grazer. We doing a whole thing about that, like getting perspectives from athletes of what happened.

"Man, listen, I ain't never seen nothing like it. Never seen nothing like it. And you know, we can talk about all the different stuff I've been through. I've been through the Knicks trade, Hurricane Katrina, (Donald) Sterling stuff. All that, and then, boom. 'You said come back to the locker room? What's going on, what's happening? When you starting the game?' Like that, that right there, that was different."

The NBA is set to resume play later this month with a series of scrimmages followed by the restart of the regular season. The Thunder's first scrimmage game will be against the Boston Celtics on July 24.
