The Phoenix Suns have signed guard Cameron Payne, the team announced Tuesday. Both sides reportedly agreed to a two-year contract, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Payne No. 14 overall in 2015. The 6-foot-3 guard has averaged six points and 2.5 assists in 16 minutes per game while shooting 33.1% on 3-pointers over 153 NBA appearances.

Payne, 25, last appeared in the NBA during the 2018-19 season, which he split between the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 26-39 Suns possess the second-worst record of the 22 teams set to resume the NBA season at Walt Disney World in July. Phoenix will need to pass five teams in the Western Conference standings in order to secure the organization's first postseason berth since 2010.
