Clippers sign Noah for rest of season
The Los Angeles Clippers have signed veteran center Joakim Noah to a new contract, the team announced Sunday.
It includes a non-guaranteed deal for the 2020-21 season, sources told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.
The 35-year-old initially joined the team March 9 on a 10-day contract but didn't appear in a game prior to the suspension of the season.
Since entering the league in 2007, Noah has averaged 8.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. He was an All-Star in 2013 and 2014, and was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2013-14 while with the Chicago Bulls.
In a limited reserve role with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, Noah averaged 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 0.7 blocks in just 16.5 minutes per game.
The NBA season will resume at a closed campus at Walt Disney World next month, with the Clippers taking on the Los Angeles Lakers on July 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
