The 2K Tournament continued on Sunday with the remaining four first-round matchups. If you missed our coverage of Friday's action - including Derrick Jones Jr.'s big upset over Kevin Durant - you can catch up here.

Reminder: entrants are allowed to select any NBA team, but can only use the team once during the course of the tournament. There's certainly a bit of strategy at play.

Here's how Sunday's slate played out:

Game 5: No. 8 Harrell vs. No. 9 Sabonis

Tipping off the second day of 2K Tournament action, the Los Angeles Clippers' Montrezl Harrell and the Indiana Pacers' Domantas Sabonis became the first competitors to bet on themselves, opting to select their real-life teams for the match.

Sabonis heavily criticized his virtual clone throughout the game. After missing a mid-range pull-up jumper, Sabonis exclaimed: "Oh god! He sucks! He really sucks!" After Harrell deployed a hack-a-Sabonis strategy late in the game, the Pacers All-Star decried his in-game free-throw shooting ability.

Harrell pulled away late for a decisive 73-51 win.

Game 6: No. 4 Mitchell vs. No. 13 Hachimura

Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura picked the Los Angeles Lakers; Utah Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell followed with the Brooklyn Nets - and set a competitive tone early after calling a timeout off the opening tip to tweak his lineup.

However, Hachimura's Lakers took the win 74-71, with Mitchell missing what would have been a game-tying three from Spencer Dinwiddie at the buzzer.

Perhaps the rookie's choice to use an actual waterboy during the game was the difference-maker?

Game 7: No. 5 Booker vs. No. 12 Porter Jr.

Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. couldn't goad Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker into picking his own squad, so the two went with the Lakers and Bucks, respectively.

It was probably the smart choice, as Booker's Bucks kept the Lakers in check, beating Porter 85-75.

Game 8: No. 6 Drummond vs. No. 11 Cousins

Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond went with the Lakers, while free-agent big man DeMarcus Cousins rocked the Nets to cap first-round action.

Drummond boasted a commanding 23-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but the worst was yet to come for Boogie. Cousins ended up getting doubled, losing 101-49 to finish first-round action.

What's next?

The matchups are now set for Tuesday's single-elimination quarterfinals.

  • Harrell will take on Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr.
  • Booker will face Hachimura
  • Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young will face the Phoenix Suns' DeAndre Ayton
  • Drummond will square up with the Clippers' Patrick Beverley.

The semifinals and finals will play out in a best-of-three format on Saturday, April 11, with the eventual victor securing $100,000 for charity.
