Zion sets record with 10th straight 20-point game as teenager
Zion Williamson is already setting records in just his 14th NBA game.
The New Orleans Pelicans phenom registered 24 points in a 116-104 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, becoming the first teenager in league history to register 10 consecutive 20-point outings.
He's also the fourth rookie since 2000 to register such a streak, joining Donovan Mitchell, Joel Embiid, and Blake Griffin, Pelicans PR notes.
Carmelo Anthony held the previous mark with nine straight 20-point games as a 19-year-old in 2003, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Williamson also required the third-fewest appearances in NBA history to register a 10-game streak of 20-plus points, behind only legendary big men Wilt Chamberlain, Elvin Hayes, and George Mikan, according to Elias Sports.
Williamson has been highly productive to start his NBA career, averaging 23.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
