John Beilein entered this weekend's NBA All-Star break weighing his future with the Cleveland Cavaliers and has entertained the possibility he will not return as head coach, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst.

Regardless of his decision, Beilein is not expected to remain with the Cavaliers beyond this season, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Kelsey Russo, and Jason Lloyd. Beilein will reportedly meet with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert on Monday.

Beilein has endured a turbulent first season in Cleveland. Reports have circulated that he's lost the locker room, and he apologized to players in February after referring to them during a team meeting as "thugs." He later explained he meant to say "slugs."

The 66-year-old was a surprise hire by the rebuilding Cavaliers last spring. He's had trouble adjusting to the NBA after spending his entire coaching career in the college ranks - including a 12-year tenure at Michigan. The tumultuous October resignation of his son Patrick as head coach at Niagara has reportedly taken a personal toll on him as well.
