The Memphis Grizzlies have waived shooting guard Dion Waiters, the team announced Sunday.

Waiters was acquired along with Justise Winslow from the Miami Heat on Thursday as part of the three-team trade that resulted in Andre Iguodala, Jae Crowder, and Solomon Hill heading to Miami.

The 28-year-old Waiters didn't appear in a game for the Grizzlies. In fact, Waiters only appeared in three contests this season while with the Heat due to several team-issued suspensions and benchings related to his professional conduct.

Most notably, the Heat suspended Waiters for 10 games in November following a medical incident - the result of the former fourth overall pick reportedly ingesting a THC-infused edible on the team plane.

In his limited run this season, Waiters has averaged 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and one assist in 14 minutes per game while shooting 8-of-17 (47.1%) from 3-point range.
