The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, and Washington Wizards finalized a three-way trade Thursday that sent Marcus Morris to L.A., Isaiah Thomas to the Clippers, Maurice Harkless and a 2020 first-round pick to the Knicks, and Jerome Robinson to the Wizards.
"Marcus is a player we've admired for a long time," Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said in a statement. "He is an established scorer, elite shooter, and imposing defender. We are excited to add his experience and toughness to our team."
Morris is on an expiring contract and is expected to immediately plug in at power forward. He was averaging a career-high 19.6 points on 44% 3-point shooting for the Knicks this season.
The Clippers won't keep Thomas, however, a source told The Athletic's David Aldridge. He was shooting 41.3% from deep in 40 games for the Wizards, the most he's played in a campaign since 2016-17.
Harkless was averaging 5.5 points per contest for the Clippers. He's also due to be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
