The death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant shook the football world as well.

NFL stars took to social media to pay their respects to one of the sporting world's most accomplished and cerebral athletes.

Among them was New England Patriots quarterback and six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was devastated to learn of Bryant's death.

News of Bryant's death went public during the Pro Bowl. A moment of silence was observed at Camping World Stadium before the crowd broke out in a "Kobe" chant.

Bryant was born in Philadelphia and was a strong supporter of the hometown Eagles. Bryant once attended an NBA game in 2005 wearing a Donovan McNabb jersey.
