Chicago Bulls big man Wendell Carter Jr. is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after an MRI and CT scan confirmed a severe right ankle sprain, the team announced.
The second-year center missed Wednesday's tilt against the New Orleans Pelicans, which was his first absence of the campaign.
In 37 appearances this season, Carter has posted 11.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game.
Despite a 13-25 record, the Bulls are just four games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
