Harrell after Clippers' blowout loss: 'We're not a great team'

The Los Angeles Clippers surrendered a season-high 140 points in Saturday's loss to the lottery-bound Memphis Grizzlies and were booed off the floor at Staples Center, causing forward Montrezl Harrell to provide a somewhat surprising postgame assessment about his club.

"We're not a great team. That's, I think, one thing that you all need to get out your minds," Harrell told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

He added: "We just (came) together this year. We have two players that haven't been a part of this team. We have a player who won an NBA championship with a whole other team last year."

Despite an ongoing effort to integrate key offseason acquisitions Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers still own an impressive 25-12 record after Saturday's defeat. But Harrell doesn't appear to be thrilled with his team's inconsistent performances.

"Either we wake up and figure it out right now or we're just gonna have a full up-and-down season for the whole year," Harrell said.

The 140 points mark the highest total a team featuring Leonard has ever surrendered, Youngmisuk notes.

The Clippers have a chance to right the ship when they host the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon.
