Charlotte Hornets forward PJ Washington suffered a fracture in the fifth finger of his right hand during Friday's win over the Chicago Bulls, the team announced on Saturday.

The rookie will miss Sunday's game against the Indiana Pacers at the very least. The Hornets didn't announce an expected recovery timeline, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports the injury is expected to keep Washington out through Christmas.

Washington is averaging 12.3 points per game, ranking fourth for the Hornets and eighth among all rookies this season through 28 appearances.

Charlotte entered Saturday's slate with a 12-16 record, just a half game behind the Orlando Magic for the Eastern Conference's eighth seed.
