Derrick Rose carried his team to the finish line on Monday, hitting a game-winning jumper with 0.3 seconds remaining to give the Detroit Pistons a 105-103 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The former MVP wasn't lacking for confidence after scoring 17 fourth-quarter points, including the decisive mid-range jumper.

"Excuse my English, but I'm born to do this shit," Rose said during his postgame interview with Fox Sports. "... This is what I do. That's one of the reasons, I think, why they brought me here."

Rose is right: The Chicago native has produced in the clutch time and time again. The veteran point guard entered Monday's contest having made 17 shots in his career that either tied a game or gave his team a lead with 30 seconds or less remaining in either the fourth quarter or overtime of a win, according to Basketball-Reference.

The 31-year-old's heroics helped improve the Pistons' record to 10-14. Detroit sits 1.5 games back of the Orlando Magic for the Eastern Conference's eighth seed.
