Carmelo Anthony is officially headed for the Pacific Northwest.

The Portland Trail Blazers announced the signing of the veteran forward Tuesday, five days after reports suggested Anthony was inking a non-guaranteed contract with the team.

He will be activated for Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Yahoo's Chris Haynes reports.

Anthony's deal will be worth $2.15 million if he remains with the team past the NBA's roster guarantee date of Jan. 10, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

"Carmelo is an established star in this league that will provide a respected presence in our locker room and a skill set at a position of need on the floor," Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey said in a statement.

Anthony last played an NBA game a little over a year ago with the Houston Rockets. The 12-time All-Star has been working out regularly in hopes of a return.

"Everything kind of happened in like 48 hours," the 35-year-old Anthony said about joining the Blazers.

He announced on Instagram that he will wear No. 00 in Portland.
