Andre Drummond's historic start to the 2019-20 campaign continued in a losing effort against the Washington Wizards on Monday.

The Pistons center recorded 24 rebounds in Detroit's 115-99 loss, becoming the first player since Ben Wallace in 2003 to record 20-plus rebounds in four or more consecutive games.

Player Consecutive 20-Rebound Games (Year)
Dennis Rodman 7 (1995)
Dennis Rodman 7 (1992)
Ben Wallace 5 (2003)
Dennis Rodman 5 (1993)
Kevin Willis 5 (1991)
Dennis Rodman 5 (1992)
Kevin Willis 4 (1992)
Dennis Rodman 4 (1992)
Andre Drummond 4 (2019)

Drummond is averaging 19.4 rebounds through eight appearances. If that holds up, Drummond's per-game rebounding average would be the highest over a full season since Wilt Chamberlain averaged 19.17 boards in 1971-72.

His production has come with frontcourt partner Blake Griffin sidelined with hamstring and knee soreness. The center's numbers could take a slight dip when Griffin, who's inching closer to his season debut, returns.

Drummond is in the final season of a five-year, $127.2-million contract with Detroit that includes a $28.8-million player option for 2020-21. However, the big man said in August that he'll be a free agent next summer.
