Nowitzki retired from the NBA in April after 21 seasons, all of which were spent with the Mavs.
In June, the city of Dallas voted to rename a portion of one of the streets near American Airlines Center as Nowitzki Way. Mavs owner Mark Cuban has also promised to build the "biggest, most badass statue ever" of Nowitzki.
