Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has accepted an invitation to Team USA's training camp for the FIBA World Cup in China, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The reported Adebayo invite comes after several high-profile American players have backed out or abstained from competing in the late-summer tournament.
Adebayo, who just turned 22, is an athletic big man set to join other centers at the camp, including Andre Drummond, Myles Turner, and Brook Lopez. Montrezl Harrell reportedly backed out of participating on Thursday.
Guard JJ Redick also backed out Friday, highlighting a potential need for more shooters on the U.S. roster.
