The Minnesota Timberwolves won't match the Memphis Grizzlies' three-year, $28-million offer sheet for guard Tyus Jones, the team announced in a statement.

Minnesota decided to let Jones walk in order to pursue maximum cap space in 2020, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Jones will join Ja Morant and De'Anthony Melton in the Grizzlies' backcourt, providing much-needed depth.

The 23-year-old Duke product averaged career highs in points (6.9) and assists (4.8) in 68 games last season in Minnesota.
