The Los Angeles Clippers have re-signed point guard Patrick Beverley to a three-year contract worth $40 million, agent Kevin Bradbury told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Long known for his tenacious defensive play, Beverley was a key part of the Clippers' success last season. He figured to be a coveted free agent heading into the offseason, but L.A. manages to keep him in town with a deal averaging over $13 million per season.
Beverley's big payday comes on the heels of a 2018-19 campaign in which he played a career-high 78 games, averaging 7.6 points, 3.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals.
The Clippers have also been heavily linked to Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, who reportedly plans to ramp up his process in the coming days after not taking any meetings on the first night of free agency.
