TORONTO, ONTARIO - MAY 30: Rapper Drake and Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors exchange words during a timeout in the first quarter during Game One of the 2019 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena on May 30, 2019 in Toronto, Canada.

Picture Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry entering Scotiabank Arena donning the retro Toronto Raptors jersey his father Dell once wore for the franchise during his own playing career.

That would have been the case for Game 2 of the NBA Finals had Drake not beat Steph to the punch in Game 1.

"Before I flew to Toronto, Steph called me and said 'Hey pops, pack me one of your old Toronto jerseys,'” said Dell on Tuesday, according to The Canadian Press.

“That was the exact same jersey I packed for him, but (Steph was going to wear it prior to the) second game (of the NBA Finals in Toronto). Then Drake shows up in it so that ruined that.”

Dell took no offense to the Canadian rapper sitting courtside decked out in his autographed jersey, and the lengths Drake went to get it was a tad flattering.

"It was all fun. You know all about the trolling and everything," Dell added. "He went to great depth to get that jersey, so it's probably a little bit of respect. I think more than that, it fired up the Warriors even more to try to steal a game there in Toronto and I think they did just that."
