DeRozan didn't want 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' skit to air during Finals

San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan was seen during Sunday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" taking part in a skit which involved selling a fake product known as an Invisiball.

The skit was originally filmed in May 2018, but was just recently aired ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Both the four-time All-Star and his agent were adamant over the show not airing the skit because DeRozan's former team, the Toronto Raptors, were competing for a championship at the time.

"We found out a few days ago, and we alerted them immediately that it’s not something that we wanted them to do nor did DeMar want it on," agent Aaron Goodwin told the Athletic's Sam Amick. "We felt it was extremely insensitive to the fact that DeMar’s (former) team is playing in the Finals. They made it clear to us that it was funny to them, although it wasn’t funny enough for them to use a year ago when they shot it. And apparently that’s all that matters to them.

"We even asked them, ‘If you’re going to air this thing, put up a disclaimer that, for whatever reason, you’ve had this footage for over a year and you decided to use it now. And they refused to do that."

DeRozan spent the first nine years of his career north of the border with the Raptors, but was traded last July to the Spurs as part of a package for Kawhi Leonard.
