Report: Kokoskov interviewed for Grizzlies' coaching vacancy
Former Phoenix Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov recently interviewed for the vacant Memphis Grizzlies coaching position, sources told ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
The Grizzlies dismissed J.B. Bickerstaff on April 11 after a season and a half on the job. Kokoskov was fired by the Suns on April 22 after just one season and a 19-63 record.
Memphis also shuffled its front office last month when it appointed Jason Wexler to president of basketball operations and demoted longtime general manager Chris Wallace to a scouting role. The Grizzlies have the No. 2 pick in next month's NBA draft.
Kokoskov, a Serbian, became the first non-North American born-and-raised head coach in NBA history last season. The Grizzlies have also reportedly been linked with another European coaching candidate, Sarunas Jasikevicius of Lithuanian team Zalgiris.
