Hood avoids serious knee injury, questionable for Game 1
Portland Trail Blazers guard Rodney Hood is questionable for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors after an MRI on his left knee revealed only a bone bruise.
Hood injured his knee in the third quarter of Sunday's 100-96 Game 7 win over the Denver Nuggets. He left the contest and did not return.
The 26-year-old was acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of February's trade deadline and has become a key rotation player for Portland off the bench.
Hood notably played a huge role in the fourth overtime of Game 3 against Denver, scoring seven points in the final 1:07 to give Portland a 2-1 series lead. Overall, he's averaging 9.9 points through 12 games in these playoffs.
Game 1 of the West finals will tip off Tuesday at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
