Bucks' Brogdon may not be ready to return to starter's role
Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon is back from a 21-game injury layoff, but he may not be ready to reassume his starting role by the start of the Eastern Conference finals.
"He needs more game minutes, more game action," Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said Saturday, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews. "We plan to continue to increase Malcolm's workload and minutes. To say exactly how it's going to play out - the next step will be him playing a little bit more in Game 1."
Brogdon played 17 minutes upon returning for the Bucks' series-clinching rout of the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, scoring 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting. The former NBA Rookie of the Year started all 64 games he played for Milwaukee in the regular season before going down with a plantar fascia tear in March.
Game 1 of the East finals starts in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
